Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a versatile Secondary Core Subjects Tutor to provide personalised support to secondary learners in Wigan. You will deliver one-to-one tuition in Maths and English, identify gaps and plan targeted activities to boost progress.

The role requires adaptability to meet individual learning needs, with a schedule of 5-15 hours per week starting October 2026 and ongoing, supporting students to stay engaged and build confidence.

Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent relevant teaching qualification desirable.
• Good subject knowledge in Maths, English or other core subjects.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience supporting learners who need additional educational help.
• Strong communication, organisation and planning skills.
