The International Baccalaureate (IB) is seeking a Copy Editor to join the Exam Publishing team in Cardiff. The role focuses on copy editing across examinations, ensuring house style and high-quality materials, and coordinating translations.

Hybrid working with one day in the Cardiff office, fixed-term for 7 months, 37.5 hours per week; salary circa £32,000 with opportunities to contribute to global assessments.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree or equivalent qualification, or substantial practical experience.
• Experience in language, linguistics, and translation management.
• Editorial experience with high English proficiency (CEFR C1/C2).
• Understanding of global organizational operations.
• Strong communication with staff at all levels worldwide.
• Excellent command of English for publishing.
• Detail-oriented with proofreading/copy editing.
• Decisive and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Ability to work independently under changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on development, delivery and copy editing of materials.
• Support exception reporting and action management.
• Standardize and implement house style and branding.
• Oversee translation production delivery timelines.
• Manage records, policy compliance, and translations payments.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Guide stakeholders through security processes and feedback.
• Implement process changes aligned with IB objectives.
