Job summary

PetroChina International London is seeking a commercially minded Trader, Copper Cathodes to manage the day‑to‑day trading of refined copper, concentrates and related products from our London office.

Based in Charing Cross, you will work with Risk, Operations, Treasury, Settlement and Legal teams, developing hedging strategies and growing a profitable copper book while sharpening your trading skillset in a fast, high‑reward environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in physical and derivatives copper markets.
• Proven track record of generating revenue in trading.
• Existing network with copper product consumers or counterparties.
• Strong understanding of copper markets, regulations and market dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Support daily management of the global copper trading book, including positions, exposures and P&L.
• Produce daily exposure and position reports using risk and trading systems.
• Assist hedging activities and profit/loss analysis.
• Capture new trades and update positions; ensure data integrity.
• Analyze historical trades and market trends to inform decisions.
• Identify arbitrage opportunities and propose derivative strategies.
• Liaise with Risk, Operations, Treasury, Settlement, Legal and KYC.
