Job summary

PetroChina International London (PCIL) seeks a Senior Metals Trader, Aluminium, to build and lead our Green Aluminium trading desk within the Petrochemicals team. Based in London, you will own origination, trading flows and risk management, developing a profitable, scalable portfolio with a focus on physical trading supported by derivatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive trading experience in Aluminium and derivatives.
• Strong network among aluminium buyers and producers.
• Deep knowledge of pricing dynamics and market fundamentals.
• Proficiency in data analysis and programming is advantageous.
• Established ability to manage risk and implement hedging strategies.

Responsibilities

• Analyse global and regional Aluminium markets, track price movements and identify profitable trades.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and consumers for Aluminium products.
• Develop and implement hedging strategies to manage price volatility.
• Identify and open new trading opportunities to source Aluminium products globally.
• Ensure efficient management of the supply chain and optimise costs.
• Maintain compliance with trading regulations, reporting standards, and ethics.
• Monitor market trends and geopolitical factors affecting Aluminium and related metals.
• Collaborate with finance, logistics, risk management and compliance teams.
• Track market movements and manage risks including credit and counterparty exposure.
• Provide market insights and trade reports to senior management.
