Job summary

Bield Housing & Care invites applications for a Cook position at Donaldson Court in Edinburgh. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, freshly prepared meals for tenants within a retirement housing setting, while supporting dietary requirements and budget constraints.

You will work a 24.5 hour weekly rota with a two-week cycle, cooking and serving meals as part of a collaborative team, ensuring food hygiene and safety standards are followed.

Cook Position in Edinburgh!

Are you looking for a challenging role where you can learn new skills and deliver great food? Are you experienced in catering and managing dietary requirements?

The role of a chef/cook within our Donaldson Court development is more than just cooking. You will be working with our team to provide a high quality of life for those that need it.

Hours of employment

24.5 hours per week over a 2 week rota, with a 1 hour unpaid break per shift.

Week 1:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday: 10am to 6pm
Week 2:
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10am to 6pm
You will be -
  • Responsible for the provision of a flexible meals service, offering high quality, freshly prepared meals and value for money to tenants in a retirement housing service.
  • Assisting with the ordering, purchasing and storing of food commodities working within the food budget.
  • Ensuring all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and where appropriate outside regulators are met and actively promote such standards within the development.
  • On a daily basis prepare, cook and serve meals to the tenants as part of a team.
