Job summary

Pobl Group is seeking a Cook (Relief) to work across our Abbeyfield Services in North Wales, covering Denbighshire, Flintshire and Conwy. In this rewarding role you’ll prepare nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs and help enhance their quality of life.

An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Food Preparation or Catering is essential, with a good understanding of food hygiene and safety. Enjoy flexible shifts, a supportive team, and a warm community atmosphere. Rate: £13.50 per hour.

Job description

As Cook (Relief) you will work across our 8 Abbeyfield Services in North Wales, covering Denbighshire, Flintshire and Conwy. In this rewarding role, you'll help enhance residents' quality of life by preparing nutritious, appetising meals tailored to their dietary needs and preferences. You'll maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness while working closely with residents and colleagues to plan menus, encourage social interaction, and create a warm, community-focused environment.

You'll bring previous catering experience gained in a commercial kitchen environment, along with a passion for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that make a positive difference to people's lives. An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Food Preparation, Catering, or a related subject is essential. You'll also have a good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and safe working practices, with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance in the kitchen. Strong communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team will help you succeed in this rewarding role supporting older adults.
