Job summary

Codi Group is seeking a Relief Cook to work across eight Abbeyfield services in North Wales, covering Denbighshire, Flintshire and Conwy. You will prepare nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, while maintaining strict hygiene standards and engaging with residents to foster a friendly, community atmosphere.

The role emphasizes teamwork, independence, and reliable delivery of high-quality meals, with ongoing training and eligibility for Blue Light Card discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Food Preparation or Catering is essential.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, appetising meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Plan menus in collaboration with residents and staff.

About The Role

As Cook (Relief) you will work across our 8 Abbeyfield Services in North Wales, covering Denbighshire, Flintshire and Conwy. In this rewarding role, you'll help enhance residents' quality of life by preparing nutritious, appetising meals tailored to their dietary needs and preferences. You'll maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness while working closely with residents and colleagues to plan menus, encourage social interaction, and create a warm, community-focused environment.

Skills And Experience Needed

You'll bring previous catering experience gained in a commercial kitchen environment, along with a passion for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that make a positive difference to people's lives. An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Food Preparation, Catering, or a related subject is essential. You'll also have a good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and safe working practices, with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance in the kitchen. Strong communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team will help you succeed in this rewarding role supporting older adults.
