Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities, autism, complex health conditions, and challenging behaviour? Warwick House is seeking dedicated and experienced cook to join our supportive and nurturing team.

About Warwick House: Warwick House is a specialist long-stay home providing care for children with a range of learning disabilities. Our aim is to create a nurturing environment where children can develop the skills and confidence, they need for day-to-day life. We support children with emotional well-being, health, and social needs, tailoring our care to meet their individual requirements.

This is an exciting time to join us, and we need the right talent to help us to continue to improve and grow our services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who has experience of working as a cook. You will receive full support, ongoing training, and development opportunities.

The Residential provision is a 24hr service, applicants for these roles will be expected to work shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Meal planning, food preparation and cooking
  • Health, safety and hygiene
  • Supporting the children’s dietary needs
  • Inventory management and record keeping
  • Teamwork and engagement
  • Cultural sensitivity, food aversions and sensory challenges

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a cook.
  • Strong organisation and time managements skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to providing a high-quality service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers.

  • 30 days paid annual leave with additional bank holidays, pro rata.
  • This increases to 33 days after five years’ service, and then 35 days after ten years’ service, pro rata.
