Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook meals from a full range of pre-planned menus at our site in the East Midlands. The role requires catering to individual dietary needs, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and working as part of a supportive kitchen team.

Applicants should have experience in preparing and cooking meals, plus knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and cooking meals.
• Team player with great communication skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene.
• Confidence with stock control and ordering.
• Experience cooking for large groups, especially older adults (bonus).
• Knowledge of special diets & IDDSI framework (desirable).
