Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join our Retirement Living Team in Bushbury, Wolverhampton. The facility includes a restaurant and an on-site gym.

This is a part-time role working 24 hours per week, with some weekend work included. Specific working patterns are to be discussed at interview, with some flexibility available.

You will prepare fresh, home-cooked meals for our residents, plan fortnightly menus that offer quality and deliciousness, and meet our residents' cultural and dietary needs. You will also manage stock and budgets, including stock taking, placing orders, receiving deliveries, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving home-cooked meals to approximately 15 residents per day.
• Providing excellent service to residents.
• Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Planning and participating in themed activities and events for residents.
• Ordering and replenishing food and kitchen supplies within budget constraints.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has previous cooking or kitchen experience, or demonstrates a passion for cooking in their spare time.
• Possesses a Food Safety Level 2 qualification (training available if not already qualified).
• Is confident in managing budgets and stocktaking.
• Is comfortable using IT systems such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Is motivated to develop themselves and others to ensure consistent quality service.
