Job summary

CYGNET Acer Clinic is hiring a dedicated Cook to deliver nutritious, appetising meals for residents. You will work full time on 10‑hour shifts (8am–6pm) with some weekend work, ensuring dietary needs are met and hygiene standards are upheld.

You should have a food hygiene certificate and be able to thrive under pressure while maintaining professionalism and strong communication with nursing staff. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care sector is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid food hygiene certificate.
  • Excellent personal hygiene standards.
  • Polite and professional with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals.
  • Provide special diets, considering individual preferences & needs.
  • Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients’ nutritional needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and service spaces.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Handle and store kitchen equipment according to procedures; use COSHH-compliant chemicals.
