Job summary

Greensleeves Care is recruiting a Cook to support 24-hour residential, dementia and nursing care across our care homes in England. You will prepare, cook and serve meals, ensuring balanced diets and adherence to dietary needs, while supporting kitchen efficiency and hygiene.

You will work with the Head Chef, manage stock awareness, and lead kitchen staff in a busy environment, maintaining a high standard of service and safety to residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Relevant food hygiene and food preparation qualifications (Essential).
• An understanding of the importance of food for the residents (Essential).
• An understanding of the importance of a balanced and varied diet (Essential).
• Experience of working in a kitchen environment (Essential).
• Experience of serving food in a professional environment (Essential).
• Able to lead staff in a pressured environment (Essential).

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Head Chef, contribute to creating meals for menus which incorporate choice, are balanced and suitable to special diets.
• Cater for special occasions within the home.
• Have awareness of stocks and purchases thereby allocating the quantity of materials.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals. Clear and wash up with the assistance of other staff.
• Ensure that the kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed by all staff.
• Ensure that all kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and at the end of each shift leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.

As a Cook, you will:
