Job summary

Leonard Cheshire in Penzance is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals. This role requires attention to nutrition, menu planning and close liaison with care teams to tailor menus for residents.

Working 16 hours across two days a week with weekend flexibility, you’ll join a home-like service at St Teresa’s, enjoying benefits including 28 days’ holiday, access to pay advances, the Blue Light Card, pension and health plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals and beverages on time
• Plan varied, seasonal menus that meet nutritional and dietary needs
• Liaise with care teams and customers to create personalised menus
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in line with HACCP and COSHH regulations
• Manage food stocks, orders, and budgets effectively
• Supervise and support catering staff, including training and rota planning
• Provide catering for events, parties, and special occasions
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements

Our St Teresa’s service is home to 27 adults with physical disabilities. Our service feels like family - relaxed, supportive, and centred around the people who live here. Every day brings new moments to celebrate: from small wins in independence to big laughs over mealtimes.

This is a part-time role, working 16 hours across 2 days a week. You must be flexible to work 2 weekends per month.
