Job summary

CHS Group is seeking a Cook at Richard Newcombe Court, Cambridge. This part-time role covers 22.75 hours weekly, 8:00am–2:30pm on a rota including alternate weekends. £14.67 per hour. You will prepare balanced meals for tenants and assist with menus and dietary needs.

Supervision of a Catering Assistant, adherence to hygiene and EH regulations, and on-the-job training are part of the duties. DBS and visa info may apply.

• Catering experience required (NVQ level preferred).
• Ability to plan and organise workload to high standards.
• Friendly, flexible team player with commitment to residents.

We are looking for a Cook to join our friendly team at Richard Newcombe Court, Cambridge. (CQC rated Good)

What you’ll do

Prepare excellent quality, nutritionally balanced meals, using fresh in season produce whenever possible, and ensuring attractive presentation for our tenants.

To assist the Care and Support Manager with menu planning, providing choice and catering for special diets as required. To encourage our tenants to discuss daily menus where appropriate and to be flexible according to their needs.

Supervise, give on the job training and delegate to the Catering Assistant, promoting high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, safety and efficiency.

To keep all necessary records in order to comply with Environmental Health Regulations, including the recording of food temperatures on delivery.

• Catering experience to NVQ level

• Able to plan and organise own workload to the highest standard
• Ability to carry out and complete routine work quickly and effectively
• Ability to identify the needs of older people
