Job summary

Agincare is seeking a committed chef/cook to join our care homes team in Greater London. The role goes beyond cooking, focusing on delivering high quality life through nutritious meals and accommodating diverse dietary needs.

You'll plan menus with home managers, manage stock and hygiene, and ensure meals reflect residents' cultural backgrounds. The position requires kitchen experience and ability to work 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work.
  • A background within kitchens and understanding of how to run a professional kitchen.
  • Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or supporting complex dietary requirements is desirable.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Menu planning - Collaborating with the home manager and our residents' requests and wishes, you will be able to develop and implement menu ideas.
  • Understanding dietary needs - You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure we are meeting our resident's specific nutritional and dietary needs including modified food textures and allergies.
  • Kitchen Management - You will be the main point of contact for the kitchen and responsible for the day to day running of stock management and hygiene standards

In addition to our British residents, we also cater to a multicultural community which includes residents from Caribbean, Guyanese, Jamaican, Trinidad ,African (including West African), Asian, and European backgrounds. The ideal candidate should have experience and understanding of a variety of cuisines that reflect these cultural needs.

A day in the life of a Cook
