Job summary

Exemplar Health Care's Coronation Court in Cannock is seeking a Cook to prepare delicious, healthy meals for residents with diverse dietary needs. This full-time role (40 hours) includes weekend work and a commitment to high food hygiene standards.

You'll work as part of the Catering Team, develop menus, take feedback, and contribute to a positive dining experience while enjoying induction and ongoing training and the range of benefits Exemplar offers.

Qualifications

• Food hygiene certificate and catering qualification are preferred but not required.
• Induction, buddy system and ongoing training provided.
• Experience in the care sector is not required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and serving food.
• Understanding residents needs and preferences to develop suitable menus.
• Interacting with residents to obtain feedback on meals.

Rate: £13.27 per hour

Are you an experienced Cook looking for a new challenge? Join us as our new Cook at Coronation Court care home in Cannock.

In this role, youll cook delicious, healthy and nutritious meals for the people we support.

Youll ensure that everyone has a positive dining experience, to increase nutritional intake, promote social interaction and build a sense of community.

About the role

Our Cooks make delicious and nourishing meals for people with a range of dietary requirements.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• preparing, cooking and serving food
• understanding peoples needs, likes and choices to develop suitable menus
• interacting with the people we support to get feedback on meals
• complying with food hygiene standards
• completing relevant checks and maintaining records
• being a great team player, working as part of the wider Catering Team.

If you havent worked in the care sector before, well help you feel right at home from the start with our induction, buddy, and ongoing training programmes.

About you

Above all, youre someone who identifies with our values of fun, integrity, responsiveness, success and teamwork.

Youre also:

• a cook with a flair for creating delicious and nutritious meals for varied dietary requirements
• creative in menu development and food preparation
• an excellent team player
• adaptable and flexible
• someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We like our Cooks to have a food hygiene certificate and a relevant catering qualification, but these arent necessary.
