Oaklands Care Home (Laindon) in Basildon, Essex, is seeking a Cook to join our friendly team on a full-time basis. You will prepare and deliver nutritious meals, catering to individual dietary needs, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety under a consistent day-shift pattern.

This role offers 30 hours per week with a stable day schedule, paid DBS, uniform, and development opportunities within Care Concern Group.

About Oaklands Care Home Oaklands Care Home is a 51 bed, purpose built care home located in Laindon, near Basildon, Essex, providing residential and dementia care. With comfortable living spaces, welcoming lounges, a cosy reading room and a lovely garden, the home offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where Residents can feel truly at home. Our caring and dedicated team works together to deliver high quality, person centred care, helping Residents feel valued, supported and enjoy meaningful moments every day.

Cook Contract

• £15.05 to £15.65 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As Cook, you will play an important role in preparing and delivering high quality, nutritious meals that support wellbeing and enhance daily life. This is a rewarding position where your cooking brings comfort, routine and enjoyment to those you support.

You will prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times. Working with fresh ingredients, you will support menu planning and contribute to a varied and balanced dining experience.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a consistent routine and strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in delivering quality food every day.
