Job summary

Oaklands Care Home (Laindon) is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant on a Bank contract for days. You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas and assist with laundry, ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Ideal candidates have a positive, reliable attitude with good attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience is welcome but not essential; DBS paid and uniform provided.

Oaklands Care Home is a 51 bed, purpose built care home located in Laindon, near Basildon, Essex, providing residential and dementia care. Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £13.45 to £13.95 per hour
• Bank
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.
You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.
Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
