Job summary

Oculus Legal Group in Northampton is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join a busy property team and support an experienced fee earner through day-to-day conveyancing matters.

You will assist from instruction through to post-completion on a range of residential transactions, including freehold/leasehold sales, remortgages and new-build cases, while ensuring AML and compliance requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting residential conveyancing transactions in a legal environment.
• Good understanding of conveyancing from instruction to completion and post-completion.
• Experience with freehold and leasehold matters, including new-build transactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of residential conveyancing files from instruction to post-completion.
• Support freehold and leasehold sales/purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and new-build transactions.
• Open new files and complete AML/compliance checks.
• Prepare reports on title, mortgage documentation and searches under supervision.
• Raise and review enquiries on title, contracts packs, searches and surveys.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, developers and solicitors to progress transactions.
• Assist with exchange, completion and post-completion formalities, including new-build processes.
• Draft financial statements and invoices.
• Maintain accurate case management records and internal systems.
• Provide administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process.

We're working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm seeking an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join their busy property team in Northampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a conveyancing professional looking to join a collaborative team, supporting an experienced fee earner while gaining exposure to a broad range of high-quality residential property transactions.

The Role

You will support an experienced fee earner with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing transactions, assisting from instruction through to post-completion while providing an excellent service to clients and third parties.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the management of residential conveyancing files from instruction through to post-completion


• Supporting freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity and new-build transactions


• Opening new files and completing AML and compliance checks


• Preparing reports on title, mortgage documentation and search results under supervision


• Raising and reviewing enquiries on title, contract packs, searches and surveys


• Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, developers and other solicitors to progress transactions


• Assisting with exchange, completion and post-completion formalities, including new-build completion processes


• Drafting financial statements and invoices


• Maintaining accurate case management records and updating internal systems


• Providing administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process

About You

• Previous experience supporting residential conveyancing transactions within a legal environment


• Good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion and post-completion


• Experience across freehold and leasehold matters, with exposure to new-build transactions


• Experience raising enquiries, reviewing replies and assisting with report drafting


• Experience supporting new-build purchases and an understanding of the additional requirements involved in progressing these transactions


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities


• Strong communication and client care skills


• Commercially aware with a proactive approach


• Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team


• Confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office
