About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing law firm in London for an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join its busy Residential Property team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable conveyancing professional who is able to manage their own caseload independently from instruction through to post-completion while delivering an exceptional level of client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post-completion with minimal supervision.
- Handling freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, transfers of equity and re-mortgages.
- Taking client instructions and opening new files in accordance with compliance procedures.
- Drafting contracts and preparing legal documentation.
- Reviewing title documentation and raising/responding to enquiries.
- Ordering and reviewing property searches.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers, developers and solicitors throughout the transaction.
- Preparing exchange and completion documentation.
- Handling exchange of contracts and completions.
- Preparing and submitting SDLT returns.
- Managing Land Registry applications and dealing with post-completion matters.
- Maintaining accurate case records using the firm's case management system.
- Providing regular updates to clients and ensuring a high standard of client care throughout the transaction.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Conveyancing Paralegal within a residential or Commercial property department.
- Proven ability to independently manage your own conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post-completion.
- Strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process.
- Experience handling freehold and leasehold transactions.
- Knowledge of SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- A proactive, professional and client-focused approach.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with high-volume residential conveyancing matters.
- Familiarity with lender requirements and panel processes.
- Experience using digital conveyancing platforms.
