Job summary

An experienced Conveyancer is sought by our client, a leading UK property developer, to join their in-house legal team on a fixed-term contract with potential to go permanent. You will manage residential plot sales, part exchanges and related purchases, ensuring exchanges hit deadlines.

You will prepare documentation, perform title checks, AML due diligence and liaise with purchaser solicitors and the Group Legal Department. Hybrid/onsite working available with scope for progression.

Qualifications

• Experienced conveyancer with knowledge of residential conveyancing, practice and procedure.
• Experience handling plot sales for a residential house builder preferred.
• Self-motivated, adaptable with strong team and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and run plot sales, part exchanges and purchases for designated group companies.
• Prepare plot documentation and manage lease transfers for efficient completion.
• Conduct title checks and report risks on part exchanges.
• Coordinate with purchaser's solicitors and Group Legal Department.
• Attend meetings with the sales team to review caseload.
• Handle post-completion matters like SDLT returns and land registrations.
• Carry out AML checks.

Conveyancer Witham FTC

Our client one of the largest property developers in the UK, are looking for an experienced Conveyancer to join their in- house legal team on a fixed term contract possibility of going permanent .The purpose of the role is to manage the legal process of Residential Property transactions, primarily the sale of new- build homes and the part exchange properties

What you’ll do as a Conveyancer

• Reporting to the company Solicitor heading the Plot Team
• Managing and running plot sales, part exchanges and purchases for such group companies that are designated to you
• Ensuring that the caseload is managed and conducted efficiently to achieve exchanges within the required timescales
• Preparing individual plot documentation and manage the transfer of the lease process to facilitate accurate and efficient legal completion
• Dealing with part exchange transactions – title checking and reporting
• Conduct title checks and report on part exchange transactions to identify risks and support informed decision making
• You will build relationships with purchaser’s solicitors, and the Group Legal Department and regional operating companies
• Attending meetings with the sales team to review caseload
• Dealing with post completion matters such as SDLT returns and land Registration where necessary
• Advising and assisting on issues which arise during plot sales and part exchange transactions and where appropriate, dealing with plot sales and part exchange transactions
• Dealing with lease/transfer variations and reversion sales
• Dealing with the recovery of retentions (non-litigious)
• Carrying our AML checks

Candidate

• You will be an experienced and motivated Conveyancer or Fee Earner able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Residential Conveyancing, practice, and procedure
• Qualification through the Institute of Legal Executives, Council of Licensed Conveyancers or to at least degree level in law would be an advantage
• Previous experience of handling plot sales for a residential house builder (either in house or in private practice) would be a distinct advantage
• The successful candidate will be able to work with modern computer-based technology
• You will be self-motivated, adaptable , have good team and communication skills
• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
