Job summary

Avanti Recruitment is assisting a specialist engineering company in the UK to recruit a Controls Engineer. The role involves developing software and control systems for high-end scientific equipment used in semiconductor, materials and energy research.

You will work across software and hardware, including C#/.NET development, PLC programming and HMI creation, integrating with sensors and actuators, and debugging across systems. A hands-on background in automation is ideal.

Qualifications

• Commercial C#/.NET experience.
• Hands-on PLC programming.
• Experience working with physical equipment or machinery.
• HMI development experience.
• Electronics/PCB knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop software and control systems behind equipment.
• Program PLCs using Structured Text or Ladder Logic.
• Design and implement HMI interfaces.
• Integrate software with sensors, actuators and hardware.
• Debug software, controls and hardware; support existing products.
