Swisslog is seeking a Controls Service Engineer based in the Midlands. The role can be home-based with travel to customer sites as needed. Our UK head office is in Redditch.

As a Controls Service Engineer for fully automated intralogistics systems, you will play a key operational role. Your main tasks include:

• Providing on-call services to address malfunctions promptly and efficiently.
• Offering remote 2nd- and 3rd-level support to ensure system smooth operation.
• Managing smaller projects independently, utilizing your technical expertise.
• Participating in retrofitting and modernization efforts to keep systems up-to-date.
• Creating detailed documentation and sharing knowledge with your team.
• Traveling up to 20% to assist on-site with customer issues or support project implementation.
• Building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external customers.
• Representing the company in meetings.

What you need to succeed

• A degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics, or a comparable qualification such as an HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Solid experience in PLC programming, especially with TIA, S7, or Beckhoff TwinCat2/3.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fieldbus systems, HMI systems, and frequency converters.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical and control technologies.
• Knowledge of industrial warehouse systems is advantageous.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
