Swisslog is currently seeking a Controls Service Engineer based in the Midlands. The position can be home-based with travel to customer sites as required. Our head office in the UK is located in Redditch.

Make an impact

As a Controls Service Engineer for fully automated intralogistics systems, you will play a key role in operations. Your main tasks include:

• Providing on-call services, addressing disruptions quickly and efficiently.
• Offering remote 2nd- and 3rd-level support to ensure smooth system operation.
• Managing smaller projects independently, utilizing your technical expertise.
• Participating in retrofitting and modernization of existing systems to keep technologies up-to-date.
• Creating detailed documentation and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• Traveling up to 20% to assist on-site with customer issues or project implementation.
• Building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external customers.
• Representing the company at meetings, both internal and external.

What you need to succeed

• A degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics, or a comparable qualification such as an HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Solid experience in PLC programming, especially with TIA, S7, or Beckhoff TwinCat2/3.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fieldbus systems, HMI systems, and frequency converters.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical and control technologies.
• Application knowledge of industrial warehouse systems is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
