Job summary
Automation Experts in the United Kingdom is seeking two experienced Controls Engineers to join a growing team. You will design, develop and commission PLC software for bespoke automation systems across sectors like Automotive and Pharma, traveling to customer sites as needed.
The role covers the full lifecycle from software design through to commissioning and handover, with hybrid or flexible working options.
Qualifications
- Must have practical control-system fault-finding experience and site commissioning.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good communication with customers and colleagues.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC software for bespoke automation systems.
- Program Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and Rockwell Studio 5000.
- Develop, test and commission safety-related control software.
- Configure and commission VFDs, servo drives, motion systems, fieldbus networks and remote I/O.
- Read electrical drawings and fault-find during build, testing and commissioning.
- Produce FDS, test docs and O&M information.
