Job summary

Premier Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join a UK-based automation team near Leicester. The role focuses on PLC and HMI coding, electrical design and integration of robotic systems for a range of industrial applications.

You will work with Omron, Siemens and Allen-Bradley equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and the Machinery Directive. Travel to client sites across the UK is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software design and PLC coding experience.
• Experience with Omron, Siemens and Allen Bradley equipment.
• Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Write and develop software, PLC & HMI coding for automation projects.
• Electrical design and creation of machine control system solutions.
• Deliver control and safety systems compliant with machinery directive and standards.
• Create electrical documentation including circuit diagrams, BOMs and installation docs.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK; liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
