Job summary

Rise10 Recruitment is seeking a Controls Engineer to develop, test and commission PLC, HMI and safety-related control systems from Coventry, with occasional travel to customer sites across the West Midlands. The role covers full project lifecycle, including documentation and site commissioning.

You will work with Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and Rockwell Studio 5000, with VFDs, servo drives and fieldbus networks, and must hold a UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience developing PLC software from first principles for industrial machinery.
• Strong experience with Siemens TIA Portal / S7 and/or Rockwell Studio 5000.
• Experience developing and commissioning safety-related control software.
• Hands-on experience with VFDs, servo drives, motion systems, industrial networks and remote I/O.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, I/O schedules and functional specifications.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC control software from first principles for industrial machinery and automation systems.
• Design and develop software using Siemens TIA Portal / S7 and/or Rockwell Studio 5000.
• Develop, test and validate safety-related control software against project requirements.
• Configure and commission VFDs, servo drives, motion systems, remote I/O and fieldbus networks.
• Work with Profinet, Profibus and EtherNet/IP protocols.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and I/O schedules.
• Carry out practical electrical and controls fault-finding during build and site commissioning.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation including FDS, testing records and O&M information.
