Job summary
Rise 10 Talent Ltd is recruiting a Controls Engineer for Coventry to take ownership of PLC, HMI and safety-related control systems from design through testing, commissioning and handover. The role covers development, verification and fault-finding on diverse industrial projects, with travel to sites and occasional overnight stays.
You will work with project teams to deliver robust control solutions, read electrical drawings, configure drives and networks, and provide clear documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience developing PLC software from first principles.
- Strong experience with Siemens TIA Portal / S7 and/or Rockwell Studio 5000.
- Experience developing and commissioning safety-related control software.
- Hands-on experience with VFDs, servo drives and motion systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and I/O schedules.
- Proven fault-finding and commissioning skills.
- Clear, technical documentation experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop PLC control software for industrial machinery and automation systems.
- Design and develop software using Siemens TIA Portal / S7 or Rockwell Studio 5000.
- Develop, test and validate safety-related control software.
- Configure and commission VFDs, servo drives and motion systems.
- Read electrical drawings and translate into control solutions.
- Carry out fault-finding during build, testing and site commissioning.
- Produce technical documentation and commissioning records.
