Job summary
BW Integrated Systems, part of Barry-Wehmilller, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with a background in special purpose machinery for packaging applications. You will design, program, and test PLCs and HMIs, collaborating with mechanical and electrical teams to meet project requirements and achieve on-time delivery.
You will conduct site surveys, perform machine risk assessments, and support commissioning and remote troubleshooting, while ensuring documentation and safety standards are
Qualifications
- Requires 2+ years in Controls & Automation, ideally in packaging.
- Education in engineering at HNC/HND level or equivalent.
- Experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens PLCs and HMIs is essential.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP/Profinet) is essential.
Responsibilities
- Design & development of new control systems for packaging equipment.
- Upgrade of existing equipment; integration with new automation/controls.
- Site surveys and technical meetings at customer sites.
- Program PLCs and HMIs and ensure IEC 61131-3 compliance.
- Ensure CE documentation and safety compliance for machinery.
- Start-up, commissioning, and remote support for customers.
