Job summary

Optio Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Nottingham-based Engineering team. You will work on industrial automation projects, configuring process control systems, developing graphical interfaces, and documenting PLC I/O with hands-on testing and commissioning.

The role requires independence with strong problem-solving, and you will train on Imperium4 and our internal standards, with visits to client sites across the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in industrial automation/controls engineering.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems.
• Understanding of electrical control systems and PLC I/O.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop graphical interfaces in Imperium4.
• Configure process control systems for projects.
• Create and maintain PLC I/O documentation.
• Test, commission PLC/SCADA systems at sites.
• Produce and maintain project documentation.
• Perform FAT and internal system testing.
• Support customers and other teams.
• Adhere to engineering standards and contribute to improvements.
