Job summary

We are MARCH, seeking a Control Systems Engineer for our state of the art Reading, Berkshire facility. You will lead design, development and commissioning of advanced control and automation systems across diverse industries, collaborating with customers and delivering technically robust solutions.

The role focuses on high-quality technical delivery, with opportunities to work on varied projects, ensure IMS compliance, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in control and automation industry
• Experience in Food/Utilities/FMCG/Process industries preferred
• Degree in relevant engineering field
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Job description

We are now seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our growing engineering team at out state of the art facility in Reading, Berkshire. This is a technically focused role, responsible for leading the design, development and commissioning of advanced control and automation systems across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle with a focus on high-quality technical delivery.
• Communicate effectively with customers through meetings, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Deliver assigned technical tasks and projects in line with budget, quality, safety, and time expectations.
• Produce and review specifications, design documents, and technical reports.
• Configure and develop control system application software across multiple platforms and industries.
• Conduct testing and commissioning safely within operational end-user environments.
• Maintain consistently high standards throughout the design and engineering process.
• Work independently or collaboratively within a team, adapting to various project and customer environments.
• Ensure full compliance with all requirements of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).

Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:

• Highly motivated, ambitious self-starter with a strong interest in control and automation.
• Excellent interpersonal, technical, and written communication skills.
• Experience in designing and developing control solutions within Food, Utilities, FMCG, Process, or Materials Handling industries.
• Degree in Control, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ideally a member of a relevant engineering or professional body.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience within the control and automation industry.
