Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our client in Cheltenham on-site, with opportunities to travel to the US and Canada for site and commissioning work.

You will program PLCs, touch screens and industrial networks, collaborate with panel builders, and handle on-site installation, commissioning, service, fault finding, and project ownership. Training and mentoring others will be part of your role.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming in Allen Bradley or Siemens.
• Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNET, ProfiNET).
• Experience in manufacturing environments and customer liaison.

Responsibilities

• Programming PLC, touch screens, networks and SCADA.
• Liaising with panel builders to ensure designs meet specs.
• On-site installation and commissioning.
• Service and fault finding on existing systems.
• Project management and ownership of projects.
• Training and mentoring other team members in control systems.
• Ensuring all projects are delivered to high standards and on time.

Job Profile for Controls Engineer - RF47638 My client specialise in the design, build and installation of bespoke control systems, factory automation systems and machinery, vision inspection, plastic container handling and robotics. They are on the lookout for a Controls Engineer to work onsite in Cheltenham and be able to travel to the US & Canada for site and commissioning work.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities

• Programming of PLC / Touch Screen / Network / SCADA
• Liaising with our internal panel builders to ensure the systems are built to the design spec
• On site installation and commissioning
• Service and fault find on existing systems
• Project management
• Ownership of certain customers projects from conception, design and build
• Training and mentoring other team members in control systems
• Ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and in a timely fashion

Controls Engineer Position Requirements

• Industrial Control Systems

Controls Engineer Position Remuneration

• Remuneration: £55,000-£62,000
• Company car/ car allowance
• Contributory Pension Scheme (after probationary period)
• 21 days holiday per annum plus statutory holidays

• Hours: Monday-Thursday 08.00 to 17.00, Friday 08.00
