Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Controls Design Engineer in Bournemouth to design and develop bespoke automation and machinery solutions. You will create electrical schematics and select components for automated systems, collaborating with project, software, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities include developing PLC/HMI software, ensuring CE/UKCA compliance, and supporting commissioning activities.

Formación

• 3 years experience min as controls design engineer.
• Software knowledge includes AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN; SolidWorks training.
• Experienced creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• HNC in electrical engineering or similar.

Responsabilidades

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Select PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and safety equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI software for machine control.
• Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA and relevant industry standards.
• Support build, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Test, fault-find, and troubleshoot control systems.

Are you a Controls Design Engineer looking to join a growing and innovative engineering business? You’ll play a key role in delivering control system designs from concept through to commissioning, working with the latest automation technologies and collaborating closely with project, software, and manufacturing teams. The Role:

• Design electrical control systems for automated machinery.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
• Select PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, and safety equipment.
• Develop PLC and HMI software for machine control.
• Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA and relevant industry standards.
• Support build, installation, and commissioning activities.

What we are looking for:

• 3 years experience min as controls design engineer
• Softwares – open but they use solidworks and will train on this.
• Experienced creating wiring diagrams and schematics.
• HNC in electrical engineering or similar.
