Job summary

Proman in Birmingham is seeking a hands-on Systems and Controls Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering automation, test and electro-hydraulic solutions from concept to commissioning.

You will design, test and commission LabVIEW, PLC and embedded control systems, develop electro-hydraulic systems and specify sensors, valves, controllers, PLCs and HMIs, and create technical documentation for manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in controls, electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronics or automation.
Controls, automation or systems-engineering experience in engineering or manufacturing.
Experience with PLC, embedded or machine-control systems.
Knowledge of hydraulic or electro-hydraulic systems and control hardware.
Strong schematic-reading, fault-finding, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, program and commission LabVIEW, PLC, embedded and machine-control solutions.
Develop electro-hydraulic systems and specify sensors, valves, controllers, PLCs and HMIs.
Create schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, test plans and technical documentation.
Test systems, diagnose faults, analyse data and implement corrective actions.
Support prototypes, production and continuous improvements in performance, reliability and manufacturability.
