Job summary
TXM Recruit is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Ashby de la Zouch to support and develop site automation. This hands-on role involves keeping production running efficiently while leading control systems upgrades and improvement projects.
You will work with engineering, production and external suppliers to drive automation across the site, applying strong PLC fault-finding skills and Siemens PLC experience. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.
Qualifications
- Background in automation/control systems within manufacturing.
- Strong electrical and PLC fault finding experience.
- Experience with Siemens PLCs is essential.
- Experience delivering projects and continuous improvement work.
- Able to work hands-on and in a wider team.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain PLC and automation systems across site.
- Fault finding and resolving electrical/control issues.
- Deliver automation and upgrade projects (CAPEX).
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and external suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes and systems.
- Coach and support teams to build automation capability.
- Ensure systems meet safety and compliance standards.
- Manage documentation and system lifecycle improvements.
- Provide support for critical automation issues on site.
