Job summary

Stem Recruitment is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to take ownership of automation and control systems within a busy manufacturing environment.

This role is heavily focused on PLC programming, modification, and fault finding, with responsibility for Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs, electrical schematics and continuous improvement of automated systems.

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on PLC experience in controls, automation or systems-focused role.
• Experience programming and fault finding on Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Experience working with automated machinery in manufacturing environments.
• Methodical fault finding, problem solving and root cause analysis.

• Act as the technical lead for PLC and machine control systems
• Programme, modify and fault find PLCs, including Siemens and Mitsubishi
• Diagnose faults across automated equipment and industrial control systems
• Support equipment upgrades, new installations and system improvements
• Review and update electrical drawings, schematics and control documentation
• Work with suppliers and contractors on automation and controls projects
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes

About You

• Strong, hands-on PLC experience gained in a dedicated controls, automation or systems-focused role
• Experience programming and fault finding on Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs
