Job summary

Devonport Royal Dockyard offers a four-year Control Systems Engineer Degree Apprentice programme. You will work towards a BEng in Applied Professional Engineering while contributing to projects that support national security, learning from experienced professionals on-site at Devonport.

The programme includes placements across engineering teams, mentor support, and a block-release study model with the University of Warwick.

Qualifications

• Entry requires a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points.
• GCSE grades in Maths, English and an additional STEM subject at C/4 or above.
• A level in Maths at Grade B required.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will learn to maintain, improve and optimise control systems across Devonport facilities.
• Gain experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation panels and industrial networks.
• Support fault finding, fault diagnosis and problem solving on live systems.
• Participate in planning, design, installation, testing and commissioning of new/modified control systems.
