Job summary

Babcock in Plymouth invites applications for a four-year Control Systems Engineer Degree Apprentice programme based at Devonport. You’ll work toward a BEng in Applied Professional Engineering while contributing to projects that support national security, learning from experienced engineers, and gaining hands-on experience across PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation.

You’ll study at the University of Warwick with block-release modules and placements across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Entry to the programme requires a minimum 112 UCAS tariff points.
• GCSE maths, English and a STEM subject at grade C/4 or above.
• A level in Maths at grade B.
• Security Clearance: BPSS, SC and NNPI clearance may be required.
• Only UK nationals may be eligible for this programme.

Responsibilities

• Work toward a BEng in Applied Professional Engineering.
• Contribute to projects supporting national security.
• Learn from experienced engineers and gain hands-on PLC/HMI experience.
• Assist in design, installation, testing and commissioning of control systems.
