Job summary

Bristol Industrial is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join a successful engineering team and help develop next generation machine tooling. You will collaborate with OEMs to ensure regulatory compliance and market readiness across the UK and EU.

The role involves designing electrical control systems for machine tools, leading system optimisation, testing, and overseeing installations while providing technical support to Quality, Production and Service teams.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/ Degree qualification in STEM is preferred.
• PLC programming, commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Competent with electrical test/diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Experience with CNC machine tools or industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of UK/EU machinery and control systems regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for machine tools, including electrical drawings and SOPs.
• Lead system optimisation, control tuning and performance enhancements.
• Conduct testing and validation activities.
• Lead projects for new machine installations and control system developments.
• Provide technical expertise to Quality, Production and Service teams to diagnose issues.
