SC Engineering Group in Bristol onsite is seeking a Systems & Controls Engineer to support the design, integration and development of industrial automation and test systems.

The role requires experience across systems engineering, PLC programming (Bosch Rexroth), and MATLAB/Simulink modelling, with emphasis on PID tuning, data acquisition, schematics review and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering for industrial automation or test environments.
• PLC programming experience, preferably Bosch Rexroth platforms.
• Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink modelling and simulation.
• Understanding of control systems engineering and PID tuning.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and BOMs.
• Experience designing and integrating data acquisition systems.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and integrate control systems for industrial automation and test applications.
• Develop and modify PLC software, preferably Bosch Rexroth platforms.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink for system modelling and performance analysis.
• Carry out control system development, PID tuning and optimisation.
• Design and integrate data acquisition systems, sensors and actuators.
• Review electrical/electronic schematics and BOMs; ensure compliance.
• Support UKCA/CE marking and EMC requirements; produce test records.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, controls and DAQ teams.

Systems & Controls Engineer

Location: Bristol — onsite

Contract: 12 months

Rate: £35–£39 per hour, all inclusive

SC Engineering Group is recruiting a Systems & Controls Engineer to support the design, integration and development of industrial automation and test systems.

This role would suit an engineer with experience across systems engineering, PLC programming, control systems and electrical integration within industrial, automation, aerospace or test environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate control systems for industrial automation and test applications.
• Develop and modify PLC software, preferably using Bosch Rexroth platforms.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink for system modelling, simulation and performance analysis.
• Carry out control system development, PID tuning and optimisation.
• Design and integrate data acquisition systems, sensors and actuators.
• Design and review electrical and electronic systems, schematics and bills of materials.
• Support machinery compliance, UKCA/CE marking and EMC requirements.
• Produce technical reports, design documentation and test records.
• Work across mechanical, electrical, controls and DAQ disciplines to support system integration.

Required Skills & Experience

• Systems engineering experience within industrial, automation, aerospace or test environments.
• Experience with industrial automation systems and machinery directive compliance.
• PLC programming experience, ideally with Bosch Rexroth platforms.
• Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink modelling and simulation.
• Strong understanding of control systems engineering and PID tuning.
• Experience designing and integrating data acquisition systems.
• Ability to interpret and review electrical schematics and BOMs.
• Experience selecting sensors, actuators and automation components.
• Understanding of UKCA/CE marking and EMC compliance.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
