Job summary

The University of Cambridge is actively seeking a skilled Control of Works Supervisor to join the Estates Division Asset Management team in Cambridge. Lead safety systems, permit-to-work processes, RAMS reviews and contractor audits to ensure compliance across a large campus.

You will partner with estates and health and safety professionals, delivering inductions and toolbox talks, and driving continuous improvement in control of works practices.

Qualifications

• Practical experience of health and safety management within maintenance/facilities/engineering environments.
• Experience reviewing RAMS, permits to work and COSHH documentation.
• Strong contractor management including pre-start audits and on-site safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe systems of work and ensure compliance across the University estate.
• Manage permit-to-work processes and contractor inductions.
• Conduct RAMS reviews, risk assessments and method statements; drive improvement.
• Audit contractors and promote safe working practices on operational sites.
• Provide guidance on control of works processes and training to teams.
