Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Commercial and Projects Legal Officer to support the Legal Team in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other commercial documents. The role includes conducting legal research and delivering reports, briefing notes and advised on procurement matters, with opportunities to attend client meetings and project boards.

You will join a supportive team and work flexibly across varied workloads to meet council needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial and procurement law is desirable.
• Ability to produce documents in a range of formats and styles for different audiences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other commercial documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare reports, briefing notes and advice on procurement and contractual matters.
• Attend client meetings and project boards as required and provide timely guidance.
