Job summary

Gattaca is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee major water and civil engineering projects across the North West. You will be responsible for commercial performance, programme delivery, resources, health and safety, quality and client relationships across multiple sites.

You will lead planning and delivery, manage procurement and contract administration, and ensure design activities align with project requirements. Strong leadership and NEC/CDM knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing civil engineering or water projects.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, design management and programme management.
• HNC/HND or degree in civil engineering or a related discipline; relevant certifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, NEBOSH Construction are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, programming and successful delivery of civil engineering and water projects in the North West.
• Monitor project costs, resources, forecasts, margins and commercial performance including cost reconciliations.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor engagement, contract administration, cost plans, risks and reporting.
• Oversee tender handovers, pre-start meetings, project reviews, progress meetings and records of actions.
• Ensure design activities are resourced and delivered to project requirements.
• Provide strong leadership across operational teams and recruitment, reporting lines and progression.
• Promote health and safety, environmental compliance and quality in line with requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders while minimising disruption.
