Job summary

Boyd Recruitment are seeking an Associate Director / Contracts Manager to lead the civil engineering division in central Scotland. You will manage a team of ~5 managers and ~50 site staff, ensuring profitable delivery through CVR and budget discipline.

The role includes business development responsibilities, meeting existing clients, attending tender meetings, and networking to grow the client base. A progression path into a senior leadership role is available.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable management experience in the Civil engineering contracting market, ideally as a sub-contractor.
• Experience in Estimating and CVR / Cost and budget management.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple sites.
• Willingness to develop business development activities and attend tender meetings.
• Willingness to travel across central Scotland and work additional hours when required.

Job: Associate Director / Contracts Manager

Boyd Recruitment are currently recruiting for a medium sized family run Civil Engineering contractor based in central Scotland.

Our client has been in operation for over 30 years and have built a successful business with a stable client base including frameworks in the private and public sectors.

Due to expansion and succession planning, they are looking to engage an Associate Director / contracts manager with the opportunity to grow into a senior role within the organisation.

The Job

The Associate Director / Contracts Manager will be responsible for the general management and commercial success of the civil engineering division of the business. You will be responsible for a management team of around 5 and a labour workforce of about 50.

You will be responsible for the profitability of the business. This will be managed through meticulous CVR management, communication with your team and your diplomatic approach to variations and client requirements.

You be expected to business develop on behalf of the client. This will be in the form of meeting existing clients, as well as attending tender meetings and networking events.

The business is at a comfortable size, organic growth is always a possibility, but increasing profitability through efficiency is always a company target.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:
