Job summary

Boden Group in Walsall, West Midlands, leads shopfitting upgrades and retail refurbishments for a food retail client, owning multiple projects from enquiry through commercial close-out.

You will work with a family-run commercial facilities management business, coordinating with senior management and site teams. A UK driving licence is essential, and live retail experience is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in shopfitting, retail fit-out or refurbishment.
• Experience managing projects from enquiry to close-out.
• Commercial awareness with estimating, quoting or tendering.
• Ability to read drawings and manage RAMS.
• Strong organisation and client/site-team collaboration.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ideally live in retail environments, particularly food retail or supermarkets.
• SMSTS/SSSTS/CSCS/IOSH or similar qualifications advantageous.

Job description

The Contracts Manager in Walsall, West Midlands, will lead shopfitting upgrades, retail refits and standalone projects for a food retail client. Working closely with senior management in a family-run commercial facilities management business, you'll own multiple projects from initial enquiry through to commercial close-out.

The Role

• Review client requirements and drawings, conduct site surveys and develop scopes of work.
• Prepare quotations and tenders, assessing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor prices.
• Plan projects, coordinating labour, subcontractors, materials, plant and deliveries.
• Produce and review RAMS, ensuring project health and safety requirements are met.
• Control project costs and variations, keeping work on programme and within budget.
• Liaise with clients and store teams, managing snagging, handover and commercial close-out.

About You

• Experience in shopfitting, retail fit-out, refurbishment, commercial fit-out or retail construction.
• Experience managing projects from enquiry and tender through delivery and commercial close-out.
• Commercial awareness and experience in estimating, quoting or tendering.
• Ability to read drawings, manage subcontractors and produce or review RAMS.
• Strong organisation and confidence working directly with clients and site teams.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Ideally, experience in live retail environments, particularly food retail or supermarkets.
• SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, IOSH or similar qualifications would be advantageous.
