Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a Contracts Manager based in Lichfield to lead fast-track retail fit-out and refurbishment projects valued between £100k and £1m. You will manage delivery from pre-start to completion, ensuring safety, timeliness and quality while staying within budget.

The role requires SMSTS, CSCS and Asbestos Awareness, a Full UK Driving Licence, and strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in retail fit-out, refurbishment or fast-track construction.
• Strong knowledge of retail, leisure and commercial fit-out projects.
• Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS Card and Asbestos Awareness.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight schedules.

Thorn Baker is working with an award-winning regional contractor that has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality retail, leisure and commercial fit-out projects across the UK. As part of their continued growth, they're looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team based in Lichfield.

The Role

Reporting to the Director, you'll take full responsibility for the successful delivery of fast-track fit-out and refurbishment projects valued between £100k and £1m. You'll lead projects from pre-start through to completion, ensuring they're delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple fast-track construction projects.
• Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop project programmes and monitor progress throughout the build.
• Plan and control labour, materials and project resources.
• Chair and attend pre-start, progress and client meetings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet health & safety, quality and commercial objectives.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure successful project delivery.

About You

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within retail fit-out, refurbishment or fast-track construction.
• Strong knowledge of retail, leisure and commercial fit-out projects.
• SMSTS, CSCS Card and Asbestos Awareness certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Able to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects to demanding timescales.
