Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction, a respected employee-owned interior fit-out specialist, invites applications for a Commercial Manager in Lichfield. You will own the commercial delivery of multiple fit-out projects from £100k to £1m, ensuring strong financial performance from tender through to final account.

You'll produce feasibility costs, estimates and tender submissions, procure and manage subcontractor packages, monitor costs and valuations, and prepare final accounts while building robust

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial management with a principal contractor.
• Experience in interior fit-out or refurbishment projects.
• Knowledge of carpentry, joinery, ceilings, partitions and finishing trades.
• Strong estimating, quantities and rate build-ups.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• Capable of managing client and subcontractor relationships.

The Role

You'll take ownership of the commercial delivery of multiple fit-out projects ranging from £100k to £1m, ensuring financial performance from tender through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fit-out projects.
• Produce feasibility costs, estimates and tender submissions.
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years' commercial management experience with a principal contractor.
• Experience within interior fit-out or refurbishment projects.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry, joinery, ceilings, partitions and finishing trades.
• Ability to produce detailed estimates, quantities and rate build-ups.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• Confident working with clients and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
