The Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our London team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You will provide leadership and support to site-based teams, manage client and subcontractor relationships, and work closely with our commercial and operational departments to ensure projects run efficiently from mobilisation through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the delivery of multiple construction projects from mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.
  • Managing and supporting Project Managers, Site Managers and site-based teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitoring project programmes, budgets and performance, identifying and addressing potential delays or risks.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations, client requirements and company standards.
  • Working closely with the commercial team to monitor project costs, variations, procurement and financial performance.
  • Managing relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
  • Attending and leading progress meetings, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensuring appropriate labour, subcontractor and material resources are available to meet project requirements.
  • Overseeing health and safety compliance across projects, ensuring company procedures and statutory requirements are met.
  • Monitoring quality assurance processes, ensuring accurate records and Golden Thread documentation are maintained.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues, providing practical solutions to maintain project progress.
  • Supporting the pre-construction and tendering teams where required, including reviewing programmes, methodologies and project risks.
  • Ensuring projects achieve successful practical completion, including managing defects, handover documentation and client satisfaction.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry.
  • Strong background working for a main contractor, ideally within general build, refurbishment, facade replacement, cladding or fire remediation projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, project programming and commercial management.
  • Knowledge of Building Safety Regulations, PCSA and Golden Thread requirements.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, quality standards and construction procedures.
  • Experience managing and developing site-based teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and manage project risks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong leadership skills.
