Job summary

Enable Infrastructure is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead civils operations across England & Wales with flexible location and UK-wide travel. You will own P&L, CVR, and client relationships, delivering high-quality civils infrastructure across power, rail, DNO, renewables, and ICP works.

The role reports to the regional leadership and requires 10+ years in multi-disciplinary civils, with NEC/JCT contracting experience and a strong commercial mindset. Travel nationwide is expected.

Qualifications

  • Proven 10+ years delivering civils projects in power/utilities/rail.
  • Demonstrated P&L or regional portfolio accountability (£15m+ turnover).
  • HNC/HND/degree in Civil Eng, Construction Management or equivalent.
  • SMSTS/CSCS Manager-Professional level and full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational delivery of civils portfolio across the region.
  • Maintain P&L performance and CVR metrics for projects.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships at senior level.
  • Oversee governance, HSQE compliance and safety.
  • Collaborate with Power teams and regional PMs to optimise delivery.
  • Drive strategic growth in civils works across circuits.
  • Ensure delivery excellence across England & Wales.

Job description

Given recent project wins and growth in the energy connections industry we are seeking to employ a Contracts Manager to join and lead the civils operations team. A Project Manager or Senior PM looking for the next step and challenge would be ideal in this position.

Role Purpose

The Contracts Manager holds full operational and commercial accountability for the safe, profitable, and high-quality delivery of civils infrastructure portfolio across the region. Working closely with Power teams and supported by regional PMs, the role owns the P&L, CVR performance, and client relationships for all projects within England & Wales spanning power, rail, DNO, renewables, and ICP works.

Location for the role is flexible, but travel to London and UK wide sites will be required.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven track record (typically 10+ years) delivering multi-disciplinary civils projects across power, utilities, or rail sectors.
  • Demonstrable P&L or commercial accountability at regional/portfolio level (£15m+ turnover).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, JCT, and utility framework contracting.
  • Recognised technical qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent).
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Manager/Professional level), and full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • NVQ Level 7 in Strategic Management & LeadershipExperience with DNO/ICP/IDNO delivery, BESS/solar civils, or rail power schemes
  • Chartered status (MICE, MCIOB, or equivalent) or working towards
  • NERS/Lloyd's Register scheme awareness
