Job summary

Enable is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead civils operations across England & Wales, owning the P&L and ensuring safe, profitable delivery of multi‑million pound projects.

We value 10+ years’ civils experience, NEC3/NEC4 or JCT knowledge, a related degree, SMSTS/CSCS, and a full UK driving licence to support site activity and client delivery. Travel to London and across UK sites is required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience delivering multi-disciplinary civils projects.
  • Demonstrable P&L or commercial accountability at regional/portfolio level (£15m+ turnover).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4, JCT, and utility framework contracting.
  • UK driving licence; SMSTS and CSCS (Manager/Professional level).
  • Desirable: Chartered status (MICE/MCIOB) or working towards; NERS/Lloyd's Register scheme awareness.

Given recent project wins and growth in the energy connections industry we are seeking to employ a Contracts Manager to join and lead the civils operations team. A Project Manager or Senior PM looking for the next step and challenge would be ideal in this position.

For this role you will possess civil engineering experience ideally an energy connections, renewables or power background, however other infrastructure construction considered such as highways, rail, civil engineering with excellent commercial management skills controlling portfolios of multi-million pound construction contracts. Experience of leading a team of individuals at various stages of their careers, across multiple disciplines is required.

Role Purpose

The Contracts Manager holds full operational and commercial accountability for the safe, profitable, and high-quality delivery of civils infrastructure portfolio across the region. Working closely with Power teams and supported by regional PMs, the role owns the P&L, CVR performance, and client relationships for all projects within England & Wales spanning power, rail, DNO, renewables, and ICP works.

Location for the role is flexible, but travel to London and UK wide sites will be required.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

Proven track record (typically 10+ years) delivering multi-disciplinary civils projects across power, utilities, or rail sectors.

Demonstrable P&L or commercial accountability at regional/portfolio level (£15m+ turnover).

Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, JCT, and utility framework contracting.

Recognised technical qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent).

SMSTS, CSCS (Manager/Professional level), and full UK driving licence.

Desirable

NVQ Level 7 in Strategic Management & Leadership

Experience with DNO/ICP/IDNO delivery, BESS/solar civils, or rail power schemes.

Chartered status (MICE, MCIOB, or equivalent) or working towards.

NERS/Lloyd's Register scheme awareness.
